Social Media Marketing adidas Outdoor

We assisted marketing agency bøa! in operating adidas Outdoor’s international Facebook and Instagram channels as well as implementing the #unlockbrazil campaign. In addition, we were in charge of Facebook ads, YouTube prerolls and online monitoring, and we acted as consultants.

The Challenge

adidas Outdoor is an internationally recognised brand. This brand was to be strengthened and its image transferred onto social media. The main goal was high visibility by reaching a large number of outdoor enthusiasts. Copy for social media channels and the campaign was to be in English, whilst the campaign needed sophisticated conceptualisation and a cutting-edge technical solution.

Our Service

We assisted bøa! in operating adidas Outdoor’s international Facebook and Instagram channels. Following bøa!’s concept and briefing, we wrote copy, coordinated it with adidas, and published it. At the same time, Facebook ads and YouTube prerolls were used to generate fans and promote sales. Based on a concept by bøa!, the #unlockbrazil campaign was conceptualised in detail and implemented.

In coordination with bøa!, we wrote English-language copy for adidas Outdoor’s Facebook and Instagram channels. We posted long-term campaign contents as well as reacting to current events in the world of outdoor sports. We were responsible for community management as well as Facebook and YouTube advertising.

The #unlockbrazil campaign linked online and offline worlds in a unique way. Participants had the opportunity to complete tasks on three levels and collect points online as well as offline: For instance, establishing an outdoor spot on Foursquare got you points. A "climbing" task had participants post a climbing photo on Instagram using the hashtags #unlockbrazil and #climbing – which got you more points. Inviting friends to participate in #unlockbrazil or tweeting about the challenge increased your score. The winner received an outdoor trip to Brazil.
